Wedding Day at La Jolla Cove Rooftop

Second-shooting for Maria Osgood (@mariaosgoodphoto)

La Jolla will always be one of my favorite locations in Southern California. I’ll never get over the sound of the blue waves, cloudy and colorful skies, and stunning cliffsides. Jasmine and Jordy’s wedding day at the La Jolla Cove Rooftop was the perfect mix of coastal elegance and heartfelt moments.

The morning started slow, with a calm excitement. Jasmine got ready surrounded by her girls — laughter, music, and a few happy tears floating through the room. I won’t forget the moment seeing Jasmine’s sister spending time outside writing her speech for her sister and soon-to-be brother-in-law. Down the hall, Jordy was getting ready with his groomsmen — relaxed, joking around, and soaking in the morning.

They decided to skip a first look, and instead, Jasmine shared a first look with her father. You could feel the emotion from the moment her father saw his beautiful daughter, now a bride.

The ceremony was set up with the ocean as the backdrop, and honestly, it didn’t need much more than that. La Jolla Cove Rooftop is a venue that truly speaks for itself. The simplest decor does the most. Friends and family gathered close as Jasmine and Jordy exchanged their vows, and you could feel how present everyone was.

After the ceremony, we snuck away for portraits around the corner of the venue. It was the perfect time, as golden hour had just begun. The light was golden, soft, and seagulls seemed to fly by during the perfect shot.

The reception that followed was full of energy and laughter. Everyone gathered under the rooftop as the sun set. The speeches were heartfelt, the dance floor was full, and you could tell no one wanted the night to end. Jasmine and Jordy shared their first dance with their parents. It was simple, beautiful, and completely them.

What stood out most about their day wasn’t just how pretty everything looked (though it truly was), but how peaceful it felt. Nothing was rushed or overly done. It was about celebrating love in a place that felt meaningful to them — the kind of day that reminds me why I love photographing weddings in the first place.
